Cowboys

Origins
Peaceful until the Wild Bunch arrived, a-whoopin’ and a-hollerin’.

Cowboys
Dodgy farm-workers who also mended plumbing on the cheap.

Outlaw gangs
There were several. The Hole in the Wall gang targeted cashpoints, while the James Gang were led by a Jesse (though no-one dared say it to his face). Kid Curry, Billy the Kid, and the Sundance Kid were juvenile delinquents, and the Earps were robbers with digestive problems.

Wild Bill Hickock
Another bilious outlaw. He was killed during a poker game, after which he was found to be in possession of what has become known as a dead man’s hand. He was also found to have a dead man’s leg, a dead man’s stomach, a dead man’s neck, and so on.

Doc Holliday
Bad time to get ill, normally the last two weeks in August.

Annie Oakley
Little girl who was forced to become an outlaw after people started shooting at her when she sang annoying songs about the sun coming out tomorrow.

Rustling
What bilious outlaws tried not to do while stealing cattle.

Gunfight at the OK Corral
When the Earps and the Clantons disagreed over just how good the corral was. Wyatt, Virgil, Doc, Sneezy, Grumpy, and Dopey won when Bill Clanton was distracted by a honky-tonk girl with a cigar.

Boot Hill
Graveyard where cowboys were buried with their footwear on. This led to a terrible stench and people had to avoid the area. This led to the name Dodge City.

Six-gun
Handy cardboard carton which allowed cowboys to buy several firearms at once.

Conclusion
When the frontier reached the western coast of the USA, cowboys were forced to take to boats to keep going west. This explains the phrase: “they rowed off into the sunset”.
